Recent Work
Lately my work has been quite diverse. Fluid acrylic painting was an approach that I was using for a few months. The process of fluid painting is when many colors are poured onto a panel or canvas and the colors are allowed to flow and interact with each other. Although this approach was satisfying for awhile I felt the need to return to a more representational narrative. I then worked on several acrylic landscape paintings in an expressive style. It seems that I need to have alternating approaches in style and medium to refresh my work and keep things interesting. Right now I’m developing a composition depicting several young men in an outdoor setting, similar to the painting Upward Bound now in the permanent collection of the University of Maine Museum of Art.
